Quality Assurance Manager

  • Supervise or lead a team of Software Quality Assurance specialists in applying quality control/quality assurance management procedures, including implementing a program of reporting, tracking and analyzing key metrics, monitoring quality procedures and participating in software reviews and testing. 
  • Evaluate, recommend, and use software engineering processes and methodologies. 
  • Determine and apply the latest commercial products and procedures for identifying software errors and evaluating software quality and efficiency. 
  • Interpret and apply Government regulations, manuals, and standards relating to quality assurance. 
  • Determine the resources required for quality control. 
  • Maintain the level of quality throughout the software and system life cycle. 
  • Develop and present software and system quality assurance plans. 
  • Conduct formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle. 
  • Independently developing and implementing a complex program of reporting, tracking, and analyzing key performance based system metrics; and monitoring quality procedures, evaluating system quality and efficiency, and may include Software Quality Assurance Team supervision
  • Define the program’s quality assurance policies and guidelines including formal and informal work product reviews in accordance with Operations Assurance Group defined policies and procedures.  
  • Support compliance with healthcare industry regulatory requirements when necessary.


  • 10 or more years experience in software quality assurance and testing.
  • 5 or more years experience with VA SQA process.
  • 3 or more years working in CMMI Level 3 project environment and leading quality assurance and process improvement efforts.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Knowledge or experience with VA’s Propath processes and PMAS governance.
  • Experience with VistA preferred.
