Technical Lead

  • Provides technical leadership for enterprise information technology efforts, including application development and implementation projects.
  • Plans and oversees the development and support of a specific IT area or system.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of work for the successful completion of a project and/or production.
  • Prepares and utilizes project plans for significant IT development, enhancement and maintenance efforts.
  • Leads a technical team through project development phases: analysis, development, implementation, deployment and production.
  • Establishes goals and provides regular feedback to team members.
  • Conducts 2nd developer reviews and quality assurance over technical team products and deliverables.
  • Acts as a liaison for the technical team to the project leadership team and management.
  • Communicates regularly with internal and external customers.
  • Supervises technical staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years information technology experience with 2 or more years in technical leadership.
  • 5 or more years with collaboration software, such as MS Project, SharePoint, Jira.
  • 5 or more years experience with software configuration tool such as PVCS, Subversion, Git, Rational, and Visual Source Safe (VSS).
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • VA and/or Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with agile/SCRUM lifecycle management.
  • Experience working on CMMI Level 3 programs.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, MS Office and Database applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without losing ability to multi-task.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • May require some work beyond standard hours.
