Test Engineer

  • Verify that products operate as designed.
  • Test systems using pre-determined test scripts. 
  • Understand the test cycle, test plans, safety reviews, and detailed test results reporting. 
  • Provide accurate estimates and reports of test progress.
  • Effectively work, under supervision, with diverse organizations and personalities to support a successful test program. 
  • Support test program manager for routine components of test programs. 
  • Ability to apply test methodologies, accounting for all limitations and restrictions.
  • Clearly write test procedure documents and test results. 
  • Conduct supervised analysis efforts to dissect output data, provide results and recommendations. 
  • Assess system performance against stated requirements.
  • Conduct and participate in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the project life cycle. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years information technology experience.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and the defect reporting process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Ability to participate in problem-solving and in the defect resolution process.
  • Ability to understand an organization’s business functions.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex information simply and accurately.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • VA and/or Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with agile/SCRUM lifecycle management
  • Experience working on CMMI Level 3 programs
  • Experience or training programming in C++, Mumps, Java, XML..
  • Experience with automated testing tools, including performance and load testing.
  • Experience with 508 accessibility testing.
