Web Designer

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement software code (such as HTML, CGI, and JavaScript) for a component of an Internet/Intranet website with minimal oversight.
  • Work with engineers and other members of a project team to develop the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website. 
  • Translate applications requirements into the design of complex web sites, including integrating web pages and applications to serve either as stand alone sites or as the front end to web-based applications.
  • Apply new and emerging technologies to the site development process. 
  • Design, develop, test and implement interfaces. 
  • Apply sound navigational and site-design concepts. 
  • Translate detailed design into executable website. 
  • Unit test, debug, and refine the website to produce the required product. 
  • Debug and refine website based on tester inputs.
  • Participate in 2nd developer code reviews of peer code.
  • Mentor junior website developers in their tasks and conduct quality assurance of their work products.
  • Prepare required documentation, including block diagrams, logic flow charts, graphical wireframes, user stories, navigation trees, and other website program documentation. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • United States Citizenship
  • 6-10 years information technology experience.
  • 5 or more years experience with the following development languages: Javascript, HTML
  • 5 or more years experience developing wireframes and storyboards
  • 3 or more years experience developing content help
  • 5 or more years experience with computer graphics packages such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Paint Shop Pro as well as knowledge of Flash, XML-based web applications and programming, and XHTML programming
  • VA and/or Healthcare IT experience
  • 2 or more years experience with 508 compliance regulations
  • 2 or more years experience or knowledge of agile/SCRUM lifecycle management
  • Ability to understand and explain complex information simply and accurately.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience or knowledge of CMMI Level 3 programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
